JIPMER MBBS Application Form: The Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research commonly known as JIPMER is an institute of national importance, in Puducherry. It is managed by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. Earlier JIPMER conducted its own exam, but the NEET 2020 have replaced JIPMER 2020 exam. Therefore, candidates who wish to take admission in the UG Medical program offered by the institute can appear for NEET 2020 exam.

Indian nationals or residents of India with 50% aggregate marks in Biology, Chemistry and Physics, are eligible to apply online for the examination at jipmer.edu.in. Huge number of applicants applied for the JIPMER examination and the number of applicants this year is looking to cross 2 lakh. Candidates applying for this examination should keep in mind that their JIPMER application once submitted can’t be corrected again. Thus, students who are applying should be super diligent while filling the form.

As mentioned earlier, AIIMS and JIPMER were the only two medical institutes across India that were managing their own MBBS entrance exams. However, for this academic year, the Government of India has added both AIIMS and JIPMER into the list of exams conducted by the NTA.

Under JIPMER 2020, the total number of seats is expected to be 200 – 50 seats in JIPMER Karaikal and 150 seats in JIPMER Puducherry.

What is the Eligibility Criteria for JIPMER MBBS Application form?

JIPMER determined a few eligibility criteria for candidates to qualify based on applicants age, academic qualification, nationality and some other parameters.

  1. Nationality
    • Applicants must be a citizen of India.
    • Medical aspirants who live overseas are mandated to be registered under Section 7A of Citizenship Act 1955. While applying for JIPMER 2020, candidates should submit Proof of Registration as OCI.
    • Aspirants who are foreign nationals and wish to apply for JIPMER 2020 should take permission from the Medical Council of India.
  2. Age
    • Applicants should be at least 17 years of age at the time of admission.
    • There is no relaxation granted for any of the reserved categories in terms of age limit.
  3. Academic Qualification:
    • Medical aspirants must have passed 10+2 or any equivalent examination from a recognized state or central board.
    • Candidates, who wish to join JIPMER to pursue a career in the medical industry, should pass 10+2 examinations with Biology/Biotechnology, Physics and Chemistry.
    • Candidates who wish to be doctors from JIPMER should secure a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate for the General category. While for candidates who fall under the ST, SC, category should secure 40% marks and 45% marks for aspirants who fall under OBC and OPH category in Chemistry, Physics, and Biology/Biotechnology subjects.
  4. Appearing in the qualifying exam:
    • Medical aspirants who have already appeared or will be appearing for the 10+2 or an equivalent qualifying exam during the academic year of 2020 are eligible to apply for JIPMER 2020.

How to Fill JIPMER MBBS Application Form 2020?

Applicants who are seeking to apply for JIPMER MBBS program will only be able to fill online the application form. Offline Application requests will not be entertained.

Before starting to fill the application form, applicants are required to keep a few documents handy. Here are the details:

  • Next, click on the ‘Apply online MBBS Admission 2020’ link.

Step 1: Registration

  • First, enter a valid email id and mobile number to register. Ensure that the mobile number is not registered for DND service.
  •  Next, a username and password with a login link will be created and sent to the registered mobile number and email id as a text message.
  • Next, click on the link that you receive on your registered email id to complete the process of registration for JIPMER 2020.

Step 2: Login

  • For the 2nd step, enter the login ID and password to login after clicking on the login link.

Step 3: Editing the JIPMER Form

  • Next, navigate to the ‘Edit’ button that is available at the right top corner of the website.
  • Then, fill in all personal details and click on the submit button to proceed further.
  • Next, upload the scanned signature and photograph.
  • Next, upload the community certificate and the PwD Certificate if applicable.

Step 4: Payment for JIPMER

  • After the completion of the application form, candidates would be redirected to payment gateway. The application fee can be paid only via online mode.
