NEET Registration: Application Form 2020 - Change in exam cities available!

The National Testing Agency has recently opened the correction window for the NEET 2020 application form. Now, the candidates can edit their application form specific of NEET 2020. However, the registered candidates can edit their details and change exam cities in application form of NEET UG 2020 till 5:00 PM of May 3.

April 14, 2020: NEET application form correction window has been extended up to May 3. Candidates can make changes to the details filled in the application form, including the exam centres, using the link given below.

NEET application form correction window 2020 can be accessed from the official website of ntaneet.nic.in. A link for NEET 2020 correction window is available below. The extension of correction facility in NEET application form 2020 has been made due to requests received from parents and students. NEET applicants can login using their application number and password. Earlier, on April 1, 2020, NTA started NEET 2020 correction facility due to difficulties faced by candidates during COVID-19 outbreak. While, from April 10, 2020, a total pf 15,93,452 NEET applicants can change their exam cities per preference.

How to Register for NEET 2020?

The National Testing Agency had opened the registration of the NEET 2020 application from December 2, 2019, while the last date for applying is December 31, 2019. Although NEET 2020 was scheduled to be held on May 3, 2020, with the COVID-19 outbreak, the rescheduled date is yet to be announced.

Candidates who wish to apply for NEET 2020 have to apply it in online mode and can do it by visiting the official website of NTA i.e. neet.nic.in.

Note: Candidates who belong from the Kashmir Valley were given the provision to submit their NEET application form in offline mode.

Candidates can apply the NEET application fee either through online or offline mode. Plus, if there’s any correction that needs to be done on the application form, candidates can do it from 15th January 2020 to 31st January 2020

The previous year i.e., in 2019, around 15 lakh medical aspirants applied for the medical exam. NEET is considered as one of the most important medical entrance examinations in the country and is conducted once every year.

What Is the NEET 2020 Eligibility Criteria?

All medical aspirants should check the NEET eligibility criteria to apply for NEET 2020 below:

Educational Requirements: Candidates should have 10+2 or any equivalent courses with Chemistry, Physics, English, and Biology/Biotechnology as core subjects in both the classes from a recognized board.

Age Requirements: 

Minimum Age: Candidates must be 17 years of age as on 31st December 2019 or else they must be born on or before January 1, 2003.

Maximum Age Required: The maximum age limit for candidates appearing for NEET is 25 years as of the date of the NEET examination. There’s relaxation of 5 years for candidates who belong to the OBC-NCL /SC/ST/ category and also for PwD Candidates.

Required Marks: The minimum aggregate marks for candidates in PCB subjects should be:

How to Fill the NEET Registration Form?

Here are the steps that need to be followed while filling the NEET registration form:

Step 1: Registration Page

Candidates must visit ntaneet.nic.in and then feed in all the required details:

(i)           Candidates should feed their personal details like Candidate’s Name/ Mother’s Name/ Father’s Name /as given in the Secondary School Examination or any equivalent examination Admit Card.

(ii)         Next, candidates should fill in their DOB in dd/mm/yyyy format and as per recorded in Secondary School Examination or any other equivalent board certificates.

(iii)   Candidates can provide any one of the following identity details like Aadhaar Card Number, Voter ID card, Bank Account Passbook details, Class XII Roll number, Ration Card with Photograph, Passport Number. For NRI candidates, their passport Number, Foreign Nationals/ PIO/OCI/ Passport Number is good to proceed with.

(iv)        Candidates must provide a mobile number and e-mail id to receive any form of communication.

Step 2: Filling the NEET 2020 Application Form

Also, candidates also get to edit any of the information entered in Step-I before the final submission of the NEET application form except for the mobile no. and email address, which can’t be changed after Step-I.

  1.   General: Candidates who belong to the general category, general-EWS, ST, SC, and OBC-NCL can add their category from the drop-down menu. There’s no need to upload the caste certificate along with the online application form as all the necessary verification will be done during counseling.
  2.   PwD Status: Candidates should update they come under the “PwD” category under the Rights of Persons with Disability Act, 2016, and as per MCI guidelines dated May 13, 2019.
  3.   Choice of Examination Cities: Next, the candidate should select four cities of their choice as their examination center for NEET (UG) – 2020.
  4.   Choice of Language: Candidates choose their medium/language for their NEET 2020 question booklet.
  5.   Academic Details: Here, candidates have to fill their complete academic details that include class X, XI & XII, or other equivalent qualifying Examination. Candidates who are appearing for the exam a second time should fill code from 02 to 07 against the column that is provided for qualifying examination. However, if candidates are appearing in Class XII in 2020, they should select the qualifying code as 01.
  6.   Single Girl Child Option: This option is only available for candidates who are single girl child in the family without a brother or sister may select this option. Twin Daughter/Fraternal Daughter of the family may also select this option.
  7.   Minority: Candidate who belongs to any one of the Minority Community i.e. Christian, Muslim, Jain, Sikh, Buddhist, and Parsi notified under the minority community.
  8.   Details of Father/ Guardian /Mother: Code of income, occupation, and qualification should be filled under this column.

Note: Every candidate should be submitted only once. Once submitted, corrections can only be made only during the correction window. Moreover, registration will be concluded as complete after the transaction is successful.

Also, candidates are advised for better to retain the hard copy of the confirmation page as proof.

Step 3: Uploading of Scanned Documents

Candidate’s Photograph:

  1.   Post Card size photograph (4” X 6”) (Size should be between 50 kb to 300 kb)
  2.   Passport size Photograph (size can be between 10 kb to 200 kb)
  3.   All the photographs should be taken on or after 01.09.2019 if possible indicating the name of the candidate and the date aspirants took the photograph.
  4.   Candidates shouldn’t be wearing a cap or goggles while being photographed.
  5.   The photograph should focus to be on the face with a white background.
  6.   Candidates are allowed to wear spectacles only if being used regularly.
  7.   Computer-generated photos and Polaroid are not acceptable.
  8.   Any application without photographs will be rejected.
  9.   The photograph of the candidates need not be attested.

Note: Candidates should make sure that the Passport size photo and the Post Card size photographs should be the same while you upload it with your online application form.  

Candidate’s Signature:

  1.   Candidates must put her/his full signature in running handwriting on white paper with a black ink pen and then scan it.
  2.   The signature file size must be between 4 kb to 30 kb.
  3.   If the Online Application Forms remains unsigned, it will be rejected.

Candidate’s Left-hand Thumb Impression:

  1.   Candidates should put her/his left-hand thumb impression with blue ink on white paper and then scan it for uploading.
  2.   The file size should be between 10 kb to 50 kb.
  3.   Also, if your Left-hand thumb Impression is unclear, the online application forms will also be rejected.

Candidate’s Class -X Passing Certificate:

  1.   Candidate should scan her/his Class X Passing Certificate to upload.
  2.   The File size should be between 100 kb to 400 kb.

Step 4: Payment of Fee and Status of receipt

After completing the online Application Form, here’s how candidates can pay by choosing either of the following options:

  1.   First, select the credit card/ Debit Card/UPI Mode/Net-banking of Payment and complete the payment.
  2.   Next, print the confirmation Page to make it work as a proof.
  3.   Somehow, if a candidate fails to complete the payment, then final submission of Online Application will remain unsuccessful.

 How to Retrieve NEET Credentials?

In case if the candidate forgets his/her NEET credentials, here are the simple steps to retrieve NEET credentials:

  1.   First, visit the official website of NEET and then go to the candidate login page.
  2.   Next, click on Forgot Password and then the candidate will be redirected to the password generation page.
  3.   Now, the candidate can reset their password either by answering a security question or by generating an OTP.
  4.   Lastly, feed the required fields, and then the candidate should enter their new password.
