The Karnataka common entrance test or KCET is an annual examination. Karnataka Examination Authority or KEA is the body that has the responsibility to hold the exam. The KCET application forms are for students who want to do engineering and other professionals courses.

The application forms for the examination are online. Candidates who want to apply for medical courses need to write a different examination. Similarly, candidates who wish to admission to architecture courses can write a different exam. The advantage of appearing for the KCET is that you can get an entry in a private institution or a state Institute.

Every examination, including KCET, has some important dates and deadlines. If you want to register for the exam or appear to write the paper, you need to know the dates. Details about Filling KCET Application Form

There are some essential details that you need to keep in mind when you are applying for the KCET. The most critical process is filling the KCET application form and submitting it. You need to remember some other important details about the KCET application form for the examination:

  • The Karnataka Examination Authority releases the application form in one way- online.
  • The candidates must fill in their personal and academic details correctly and adequately on the application form.
  • KCET application forms are available twice in the months of February and March.
  • The candidates receive a username and password after submitting the application form. Candidates must log in using the username and password and fill up their phone numbers and email ids.
  • There are few documents that the candidates need to upload along with their application forms- a photograph, a left-hand thumb impression, and a signature.
  • The candidate can make corrections in the application form as soon as the Karnataka Examination Authority releases the correction forms.
  • As soon as the candidate pays the application fees, the application form is thriving.
  • The candidate must take a print out of the application form for further processes of admission.

Application Fees for KCET Application Form

The candidates who are applying for the KCET examination need to pay a fee for the application form. Candidates can pay the fee through both online and offline methods of payment.

The candidates who are applying from abroad need to submit a demand draft drawn in favor of the Executive Director of the authority holding the examination. While sending the demand draft, the candidates must add their application form numbers.

Eligibility Criteria for Applying and Appearing KCET Examination

There are a few criteria that a candidate must fill to be eligible for appearing for the KCET examination. The official examination authority sets the eligibility criteria. Here are the general criteria:

Nativity- The candidates who wish to apply for the exam must be citizens of India.

Appearing candidates- When the candidates are going through the process of counseling, they need to show proof of passing the test.

Here’s a list of the academic criteria that a candidate must fulfill to apply for the examination:

  • Passing English language as a main subject in 12th std or 2nd PUC.
  • Obtaining a minimum percentage of 50% in the combination of Physics, Chemistry and Biology. (40% for candidates who have reservation)
B. Arch A candidate is eligible for the course if he or she:
  • Passing English language as a main subject in 12th std or 2nd PUC.
  • Obtaining a minimum percentage of 50% in the all the subjects of the  combination of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. (45% for candidates who have reservation)
B. Tech / BE A candidate is eligible for the course if he or she:
  • Passing English language as a main subject in 12th std or 2nd PUC.
  • Obtaining a minimum percentage of 45% in Mathematics and Physics with Chemistry/ Electronics/ Biology/ Bio- technology/ Computers. (40% for candidates who have reservation)
B. V. Sc. / A. H A candidate is eligible for the course is he or she:
  • Obtains a minimum of 50% in the combination of Physics, Chemistry and Biology and English as a main language subject. (40% for the candidates who have reservation)
B. Pharm A candidate is eligible for the course is he or she:
  • Passed 12th or 2nd PUC with the combinations PCM or PCB with an average aggregate of 45% in the main subjects (40% for the candidates who have a reservation)

Or

  •  a diploma course from an institute recognised by PCI and has a minimum percentage of 45%. (40% for the candidates who have a reservation)
